Relationship Counselling

At Therapy with Fiza, I recognise that relationships can face real pressure from many directions—whether it’s navigating infidelity, parenting challenges, tension with extended family, emotional distance, health issues, or shifts in intimacy. Life transitions and personal struggles often ripple into our partnerships in ways we don’t expect. Relationship counselling provides a confidential and supportive space where you and your partner can speak honestly and work through difficulties together, without fear of judgement. It’s a space to slow down, reflect, and begin rebuilding trust, connection, and mutual understanding.

Many couples choose to engage in therapy even before marriage, as a way to deepen their understanding of one another and build a stronger, more conscious foundation for their relationship. It’s completely natural for one partner to feel hesitant—worried that the therapist might take sides or that uncomfortable truths will surface. But the space I hold is one of compassion and balance. My role isn’t to judge or “fix,” but to help each of you express your feelings safely and begin hearing each other in a new way. We explore the places where you feel stuck or disconnected, and gently move towards clarity. While many couples find new strength and harmony through this process, others may reach a deeper awareness that parting ways is the most respectful and peaceful path forward. Whatever the outcome, investing in this work shows great courage—and can bring peace in knowing you gave it the care it truly deserved.

Premarital Counselling

Many of us enter relationships carrying expectations shaped by our upbringing and past experiences. These early influences can colour how we relate, communicate, and respond—especially in times of stress. Relationship counselling offers couples the opportunity to explore these patterns with greater awareness, helping them prepare for the natural shifts and challenges that come with life transitions, such as marriage or the arrival of a child. Premarital counselling is particularly beneficial when offered as a series of sessions over several weeks, allowing time to strengthen connection, deepen understanding, and lay a foundation for a resilient future together.

Couples Counselling

Marriage brings with it seasons of growth, joy, challenge, and change. Over time, couples may find themselves drifting apart, miscommunicating, or struggling to navigate life’s evolving pressures. Whether it’s due to unmet expectations, shifting roles, or unresolved conflict, marriage counselling can offer a supportive space to slow down, reconnect, and rebuild. It helps couples unpack underlying patterns, strengthen emotional connection, and foster healthier ways of relating to one another. Even longstanding tensions can begin to soften with greater insight and compassion. Through ongoing sessions, partners are guided gently through areas of strain toward greater understanding, healing, and trust.

Divorce / separation Counselling

It’s not uncommon for couples to reach a breaking point and consider separation or divorce in the heat of emotion—without fully exploring whether the relationship can heal or what the long-term implications might be. Counselling creates space to pause, reflect, and engage in honest conversations about what’s working, what’s not, and whether reconciliation is possible. Even when parting feels inevitable, the process can offer closure and help both individuals let go with greater understanding and compassion, paving the way for healthier relationships moving forward.
